- Non-operational aquaculture business consisting of land of 10 hectares and 4 fishponds.
- The 4 ponds on sale are seafront and directly connected to the sea. Three of them are parallel to each other, while the 4th one is adjacent to the rest.
- Five hectares of terrestrial land are included, which are located north of the ponds. This area can be used for packing facilities, artificial ponds or raceways, sanitisation tanks, as well as a hatchery for sea bass, sea bream or sturgeon.
- Licenses currently allow the production of 120 tonnes of fish, with the ability to extend to 240 tonnes with the addition of liquid oxygen facilities.
- The direct connection to the sea gives the fish the opportunity to feed free-range, on top of high quality feed, therefore producing fish, which display vibrant colours and resemble wild caught fish, while exceeding their quality due to their more controlled environment and higher feeding standards.
- Ponds are connected to a warm freshwater spring (23C), which stabilizes temperatures in both hot and cold weather, allowing for feeding and steady farming conditions all year round.
- The ponds are also supplied by borehole water. The temperature of the water is 19-21C, which also stabilises temperatures year-round.
- Low salinity water (3%) can be supplied by Nestos River, which runs adjacent to the fish farm. This has been used in the past.
- The combination of sea water and freshwater from the warm spring and boreholes produces brackish waters with measured salinity of 21%, which sea bass and sea bream thrive on.
- The farm is also suitable for the culture of anadromous species of sturgeon for the production of caviar, due to stable temperatures year-round, low salinity waters, as well as the resemblance of conditions to their natural spawning habitat. It's been estimated that the farm can produce 5-10 tonnes of caviar annually.
- The farm could culture different types of sturgeon, such as Beluga (H. huso), European/Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser sturio), Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) and others.
- Licenses, environmental studies, and land contracts are currently active.
- The previous owner established this business 24 years ago and it was subsequently acquired by us in 2015.
- The business recorded revenue of EUR 1 million at its peak, with projected profits exceeding this after proper investment of the facilities.
Aquaculture of sea bass, sea bream, sharpsnout seabream and white seabream. The waters are also suitable for farming sturgeon species for the production of caviar.
2 licenses, a farm permit, and a leased land of 10 hectares with 4 fishponds, outbuilding and shed.
Leased land of 10 hectares that contains 4 fishponds. The land belongs to the municipality and is leased at an annual rent of approx. EUR 6,000. Lease agreements are valid till 2050, and the owner of the lease has the first say on its renewal.
Outbuilding of 432 sq. m. which needs to be relocated due to licensing issues.
The business was funded by the founder, while it was operating. It is not currently trading, and we are seeking investors to resume operations.
