The fund requirement:

To fuel the expansion of its operations to other parts of the country where the company sees clear potential and estimates significant growth projections, the company is seeking to raise funds to the tune of Rs. 30 Crores over a period of three years starting FY2021-22. According to this projection, this funding will enable the company to achieve a year-on-year growth of 100% after the three-year mark.

The fund allocation:

A high-level breakdown of the fund's utilization by this operations-intensive venture shall be as follows:

1. Trade and procurement: 40%

2. Establishment of Collection Centers: 40%

3. Hardware and software assets (desktop and mobile applications development, servers, AI-based Surveillance systems, handheld devices, and lab equipment): 10%

4. Operations and operating costs: 10%

The Future:

With its strong ongoing presence in four states and with its teams and tools in place, the company has all the required experience and confidence to scale its operation up as and when the funds are made available. The high-level growth phases are drawn up to look as follows:

1. Phase-1: Technology apps implementation and go-live – shall be achieved with the existing staff.

2. Phase-2: Onboarding of new warehousing entities; installation of surveillance systems; establishment of quality control labs in the present four states – shall be achieved through the addition of required teams.

3. Phase-3: Scaling up the operations to an additional five states – shall be achieved through adding the required operations and management personnel in the new markets.

4. Phase-4: Expansion of operations to an additional 20 states in India.

The company will work on plans to replicate the success framework and best practices in other emerging markets such as Africa, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, Turkey, Canada, Europe (some parts), and the USA.
