Agriculture Business Investment Opportunities in Colombo

We import dried red chillies, rice, kabuli chickpeas, desi chickpeas, channa dal, onion and supply it to the wholesale market. We regularly import 2 containers at a time. This time the demand is more we are unable to supply. To address this we are in the process to increase the import to 10 containers a month. The owners have more than 15 years of experience in this field and we have a good knowledge about the local market price fluctuations. We have 7 to 8 permanent clients in the wholesale market who have been regularly doing business with us.

- Family-owned organic farming business that cultivates spices, coconuts, fruits, and vegetables. - Have our own land of about 50 acres and an established farmer network of 50 farmers with over 100 acres of land. - We grow all crops naturally by integrating with the planetary system without manipulating or inducement of artificial chemicals or modification. - Products are sold and supplied under our own brand. - We currently work on a small scale and supply our products to 5 local retailers and also have a small retail shop for direct sales to about 250+ regular customers. - We also tested our processes and foreign markets by exporting in small quantities to companies in Switzerland. - Have plans to expand the business by setting up a processing plant and go for commercial-scale operation with exports to the EU and Japanese Market. - With the processing plant operational, we estimate a total production capacity of 250,000 tons for spices and 2,000 tons of coconut per season (6 months). - Processing plant is expected to be completed in 4-6 months after which we can immediately scale up the operations.
