Assets Description

A web app that creates yummy lunch box recipes for kids and adults of all ages. It takes the hassle out of thinking ‘what should I feed the kids’, or ‘what should I pack for lunch’, and creates a tailored lunch box with variety, catering to the users needs, lifestyle choices, and food preferences, that can be made by in minutes.

Each member in the family has their own profile, including age, allergens, and excludes, and the lunches generated are customized for them. The app generates a shopping list with all the items the user needs to create their lunches for the period they specify (eg 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month)

The app is perfect for a brand as a marketing tool to build out its community and collect first-party data, or as a stand-alone app, generating revenue through product placement and lead generation.

Business assets for sale:

IP: Full IP and source code to the web app, IP of the recipes, pictures, and food data sheets/matrix, plus the domain name, FAQ, and logos.

Cutting-edge tech stack.

The goal for the tech stack was to keep it simple with the intention to scale.

We also wanted to keep the tech stack light and avoid complicated frameworks and server maintenance.

For these reasons, we chose to go serverless allowing the web app to handle high numbers of requests as well as it can process a single request.

The web app is a Python/javascript app using AWS Chalice. Chalice is a Python serverless microframework allowing devs to quickly create and deploy serverless apps using lambda.

Deploying to lambda is as easy as running 'chalice deploy' and the command to run locally is ''chalice local'

The entire backend is one Python file with less than 1,000 lines of code.

Using Python means the app can use some cool stuff like Jinja2 templating. Jinja2 allows the dynamic rendering of content via templates providing the benefits of a single-page app.

The front end is just one javascript file with less than 700 lines of code using bootstrap5 for CSS.

The database is a single AWS dyanmoDB table.

DynamoDB is a fully managed proprietary NoSQL database with the benefit of auto-scaling, in-memory caching, and quick response times.

The app uses global secondary indexes to enhance the querying capability and reduce query costs.

The app's AWS footprint consists of a lambda function, a dynamoDb table, and an S3 bucket for images. Compared to other similar apps this is a small (cost) but scaleable footprint.

The value of intangible assets is AUD 350 thousand.
