I am a Canadian Professional Engineer with more than eight years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse automation, industrial engineering, project management, process improvement and operational implementation. Acquiring / Buying a Business

I am primarily interested in established manufacturing, industrial services, warehousing, logistics, automation, engineering products, industrial distribution, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining and other business to business operations in Ontario and nearby Canadian markets.

I look for businesses with a proven operating history, recurring or repeat customers, positive cash flow, stable gross margins, capable employees and opportunities for operational improvement. I prefer businesses where the owner is considering retirement or succession and is willing to support an organized transition.

Important factors include customer concentration, quality of earnings, working capital requirements, equipment condition, employee retention, competitive position, supplier dependency, regulatory risks and the amount of owner involvement required. I am particularly interested in businesses that can grow through improved sales discipline, capacity utilization, process improvement, automation, better project execution or expansion into new markets.

I generally avoid restaurants, consumer retail, highly seasonal businesses, speculative startups, businesses dependent on one customer, and companies with unclear financial records, excessive debt, significant legal exposure or recurring operating losses.
